Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 22, 2026

1. CONTROLLER AND CONTACT INFORMATION

FixMyError is operated by Florin Chetroi, an individual based in Romania.

For privacy-related questions, requests, or concerns, you can contact the controller at:

Email: perseus1704@gmail.com

FixMyError is not currently operated through a separate incorporated company or other registered business entity.

FixMyError does not currently have a designated Data Protection Officer. Based on the nature and scale of the current service, no separate Data Protection Officer has been appointed.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Depending on how you use FixMyError, we may process the following categories of information:

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We process personal and technical information for the following purposes:

4. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

Depending on the particular processing activity and the circumstances in which information is collected, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases under Article 6 of the GDPR:

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, the relevant interests generally include maintaining service security, preventing abuse, protecting the service from unauthorized use, and maintaining a reliable technical service.

5. AI PROCESSING

FixMyError uses third-party AI services to analyze submitted technical information and generate troubleshooting responses.

When you submit an error log, code-related diagnostic information, or similar input, the submitted content may be transmitted to OpenAI through its API for processing. FixMyError currently uses GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.4-mini for this purpose.

OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train or improve its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in to applicable data-sharing programs.

AI processing is used solely to provide technical troubleshooting assistance. FixMyError does not use the AI system to make decisions about a user's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, healthcare, or other similarly significant matters.

You should not submit passwords, API keys, authentication tokens, private credentials, financial information, or other highly sensitive information to the diagnostic tool.

6. DIAGNOSTIC INPUT AND FIX STORAGE

Submitted diagnostic information may be stored in your account history so that you can access previous fixes while your account remains active.

Private saved fixes may contain the original error input submitted by the user. This original diagnostic input is not intentionally exposed through the public FixMyError Library.

FixMyError may also maintain cached technical solutions to improve service performance and avoid unnecessary repeated processing. Some cached diagnostic information may be retained indefinitely while it remains necessary for these purposes.

Account-related private fix history is intended to be deleted when the associated account is deleted, subject to information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate purposes.

7. PUBLIC FIX LIBRARY

FixMyError may publish certain fixes generated for Free/Basic users in the public FixMyError Library.

Public library entries are intended to contain technical troubleshooting information rather than personal or private project information.

Before publication, FixMyError applies automated sanitization intended to remove obvious personal information, credentials, tokens, private identifiers, and other sensitive information detected by the sanitization process.

The public library is not intended to publish the user's original raw diagnostic submission. Public entries use processed technical context and generated troubleshooting information.

Public library entries are not intentionally associated with the submitting user's account, name, email address, or other account identity.

Automated sanitization cannot guarantee that every possible piece of personal, confidential, or proprietary information will be detected in every arbitrary diagnostic input. Users should therefore avoid submitting sensitive information to the diagnostic tool in the first place.

Pro fixes are not automatically listed in the public library. A Pro fix may nevertheless be accessible through a direct share link when the user chooses to share it.

8. COOKIES, STORAGE, AND ANALYTICS

FixMyError uses essential browser storage, cookies, and similar technologies where necessary for authentication, security, account management, and core service functionality.

FixMyError also uses analytics services, including PostHog and Vercel Analytics, to understand website usage, measure product performance, monitor technical behavior, and identify usability or technical issues.

Analytics services may process information such as page views, visitor counts, approximate geographic information such as country, device information, operating-system information, and other technical information associated with website interaction.

PostHog is currently configured using its US Cloud service. Vercel also processes information as part of hosting and website analytics.

We obtain your consent before loading non-essential analytics technologies. You can change or withdraw your analytics preference at any time through the "Manage analytics preferences" option below.

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

FixMyError relies on third-party service providers to operate the website and provide its functionality. Depending on the service involved, these providers may process personal or technical information on behalf of FixMyError or independently under their own applicable privacy terms.

These providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Their processing is subject to their applicable privacy, security, contractual, and international-transfer frameworks.

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Some FixMyError service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.

Where personal data is transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area, FixMyError relies on an applicable transfer mechanism or safeguard available under the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally recognized transfer mechanism, where applicable.

Information about applicable safeguards may also be available through the relevant service provider's privacy and data-processing documentation.

11. PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

FixMyError offers monthly Pro subscriptions.

Payments are processed by Stripe. FixMyError does not store full payment card numbers or other complete payment-card credentials in its own database.

FixMyError stores a Stripe customer identifier so that the application can determine subscription status and provide the appropriate account features.

Stripe may collect and process payment, billing, tax, and other information necessary to provide its payment services. Stripe's own privacy policy and applicable terms govern its processing of information within its services.

12. DATA RETENTION

FixMyError retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal requirements.

13. DATA SECURITY

FixMyError uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

These measures include authentication controls, access restrictions, server-side processing, provider security controls, and automated sanitization of information intended for publication in the public FixMyError Library.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Users should avoid submitting credentials, passwords, authentication tokens, private keys, or other highly sensitive information to the diagnostic service.

14. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your location and the applicable law, including the GDPR where applicable, you may have rights regarding your personal data.

These may include:

You can delete your FixMyError account through the available account functionality. You may also contact us regarding access, correction, export, deletion, restriction, objection, or other privacy requests.

Privacy requests should be sent to: perseus1704@gmail.com.

We may need to verify your identity or account ownership before fulfilling a request in order to protect your information from unauthorized disclosure.

15. RIGHT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT

If you believe that your personal data has been processed in a way that violates applicable data-protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

In Romania, the supervisory authority is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).

More information and contact details are available through the authority's official website: www.dataprotection.ro

16. CHILDREN

FixMyError does not currently impose a minimum age requirement for using the service.

Users should only submit information that they are legally permitted to provide and should not submit sensitive personal information belonging to themselves or another person.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to FixMyError in circumstances where processing is not permitted by applicable law, please contact us at perseus1704@gmail.com.

17. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND PROFILING

FixMyError does not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users.

The AI functionality is used to analyze technical error information and generate troubleshooting assistance.

18. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the FixMyError service, its data-processing practices, applicable law, or third-party service providers change.

The effective date shown at the beginning of this policy indicates the current version.
